The Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Zacharia Paliashvili, located on Rustaveli Avenue, was founded in 1851 and is Georgia's largest musical theater. Designed by architect Antonio Scudieri in Moorish Revival style and completed in 1847, the theater hosts operas, ballets, and concerts. It stands as a center of Georgian national musical culture and one of the oldest opera houses in Eastern Europe.
