The Batumi Ilia Chavchavadze State Drama Theatre is a historic theatre with 150 years of theatrical tradition, originally established in 1879 and located in the heart of Old Batumi. The present building opened in 1952 and underwent extensive restoration between 2015 and 2018, now featuring three modern stages. The theatre regularly performs Georgian and foreign plays, maintains an on-site museum, and hosts cultural events.
